Read-180 @ Independence High School

Read-180 continues and completes the reading improvement program sequence. It stresses diagnosis, corrective reading strategies, and assessment. Read-180 is designed for those students who are still reading below grade level.

This reading course includes recreational reading with an emphasis on basic literary skills, comprehension skills, content-area reading strategies (study skills) and vocabulary development with material designed by the Scholastic Read-180 Program

This course is for elective credit only and is taken in conjunction with English 1/9 in a two-hour block.
